ok so heres the story, a week ago my laptop developed a serious virus, so after trying to re install os and failing, I took it back to the shop, they wiped the system re installed os and reset everything to factory settings. I got home and started the windows update. This was going fine, a few reboots, a few more updates then suddenly got the error code 80072efe when trying to install updates. I tried everything, disbelled firewall, antivirus, and still the same error. I went to microsoft forums, tech forums, took the steps suggested by many people, and still nothing. I have rolled back the system to the factory settings and still nothing. I am on the verge of what Americans like to term "going postal". This bug, flaw or whatever it is is really annoying and I am stuck for ideas as to what to do next (short of taking the laptop and forcebly feeding it to the first microsoft employee I find). Can anyone please help? I need my laptop for University and though everything else works fine, I hate having equipment that has that niggling bit that wont work.

I have tried the software, even tried the aggressive option and still I am getting the error message.

It may mean that it is blocked by an update that was not completed.
