Trouble with Win vista HPrem. 32bit updates

I did the right thing and allowed Win to update. from then on , I have been unable to get win explorer to operate. IE7 can be accessed -hence this thread- Its got me beat as in addition I have the 'you must associate " this program before you can open etc. I feel that it may be time to format and do a clean instal/

help a newbie please.

Hello dananz42, and welcome to Vista Forums.

Have you tried a "Restore Point" to before you applied the Windows Update? Or have you tried to "Uninstall" the update through the "Control Panel"?

You can hide updates to avoid installing them in the future as well.
