Windows update error code 80096001

Hey,

Sorry, I got in the wrong place :o....If I am still wrong kick me out.:(
I have 4 windows updates that failed, and I get the error code 80096001. One update did install, but 4 failed. I tried again three times, and still no luck. Any help would be greatly appreciated. It is almost 2:00am here, and I sleep late... so will check back in the morning.

Good Morning Flavius,

I Reset WU components in agressive mode and got three of the 4 updates installed as a result, but one still failed. Got error code 80071A90 on this one. Checked and it was a Movie Maker update, which I do not use. Went back and tried again and the update did install this time. :D

I do all my updates manually, and I hope this is not going to happen all the time now. A first with this Vista machine, and it is almost 2 years old now.

I may get this right before I finish. As I said in my quote ..I did reset the WU components in agressive mode, and three of the updates installed after that, but one still failed. That update is for Movie Maker, which I do not use. I got another error code on this failure 80071A90. Went back and second time around it did install, so all is well now.:D
