Windows updates download but do not install automatically

Hi,

Noticed over the last few weeks that any incoming important or recommended updates are downloaded automatically but I am then notified that they are ready for installation rather than windows updates installing automatically! My windows updates options are set to install automatically, any ideas as to why it would suddenly do this? Help!

Not a usual problem. Lets try the easy things first. Change the setting to do not notify. Reboot. Now change it back to notify and reboot. Sometimes settings just need a little reminder. It might be good to recheck that the settings are not changed, also.
