Hi,
I have been unable to get my Windows Updates lately, and I know there are several issues causing the problem. I want to deal with them one at a time because the problem is complex.
The first problem is that I've installed Comodo Firewall on my laptop, and though this seems like it may be an issue more suitable for a Comodo Firewall forum, my question is really about trying to find out what protocol (?) Windows Updates uses.
I have a question about the Comodo Firewall configuration relating to an Application Rule named Windows Updater Applications. The setting reads: Allow and Log TCP or UDP In/Out from IP Any to IP Any where Source Port is Any and Destination Port is Any. When I click on that information, a window opens and there is a choice of Protocol. The selected protocol is TCP or UDP. Is this the correct selection? The other options are TCP or UDP or ICMP or IP.
I can't recall whether I created this rule myself. It's possible, but someone else may have done it. I don't even know if this is a necessary firewall rule. Can you tell me? I am trying to learn about firewall function, but it's slow going.
Any help anyone can give me is very much appreciated.
