Does Windows Updates unintall SP2 RC?
I understand that Vista SP2 RC update has to be uninstalled before installing SP2 RTM update(when bcomes available). Does the Windows Update automatically uninstall SP2 RC update or does it has to be done manually?
I think with Service packs windows update will probably tell you it's available. I think you have to "OK" service packs even if you're on "automatic updates".

The question was, will the actual installation of it uninstall the RC version?

Hello Churin,
I would imagine that the SP2 RC will have to be uninstalled first before you will be able to install the SP2 RTM. It had to be done this way when the SP1 came out.
Sorry,
Shawn

It must be feasible for MS to set up Windows Upadates so that it uninstalls SP2 RC if detected and then install SP2 RTM. I may have to OK depending on its option settings. My question is if the Windows Updates is set up this way. I wonder if anyone let the Windows Updates updates service pack in this manner.
