can't install Office 2007 updates

Having repeated failure today to install Office 2007 updates KB959997 (Excel) & KB960003 (Office Systems).
Running Vista Home Premium 32bit, SP1; IE8; have Norton AV 360

i'm not sure what the problem is but i also had this problem before and it was due to a damage windows installer so i suggest you try this

- download http://www.winhelponline.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/msiserver.zip
- unzip the file to desktop
- double click / right click and click merge
- click yes if you have uac on
- afterwards restart your computer
