Corrupt WCP Store - manifest file

I am attempting to upgrade Vista Home Premuim to SP1, however it seems to be failing due to: windowsWcpStoreCorruption.

The file in question is \winsxs\manifests\x86_windowssearchengine_31bf3856ad364e35_6.0.6001.18000_none_4a1873b72f5a22088.manifest

FileHashMismatch

I have no idea how to correct this particular error, so I'm hopefull that someone here can help. Thanks!

No, this is a Dell laptop, came with Vista Home Premium installed. I've tried the SP1 upgrade through Windows Update as well as the downloaded installer with identical results.

Hi Mike,

Try updating to the latest WU version, It should correct any update errors you having

I've tried that already but no change. I'm sure the problem is that 0 length manifest file that CheckSUR catches everytime but doesn't fix.
