Update Kb950125 error

OK. This one has stumped me completely. This is the only update that fails on my PC. Error code: 80070643 which is connected to Office...I dont have any office apps installed!!
Ive tried the Newsgroups, Googled, and also opened tickets to MS..the latter being a total waste of time as they are totally clueless and ask me to phone a premium rate number...no way.:mad:

So..anyone know where the updates are located on Vista 64 Premium so I can take a look and try and troubleshoot this annoying thing?

Edit: Just so you know, I have reset the catroot etc and Windows updates via dos, but still get the error, which leads me to believe there is something on my pc which is incompatible with this particular update. This update relates to Vista Media Center.

Look in sercices.msc if office source engine is deactivated, if yes set it to manual.

EDIT:
If you do not have Office installed, why did you install the update? (automatic update sucks sometimes, prefer to download and not not install in the preferences)

The update has nothing to do with Office as I said in the original post. It relates to Vista 64 Media Center, thats the dilemma mate!

Yes mate I have. Still the same. Believe me Ive gone through most things I can think of, its just a total mystery to me. What ive done is hidden it for the time being..its not an important update as such, but its so annoying trying to figure out whats causing this, lol.

Thanks Dwarf, but that was me who started the thread, LOL. As you can see Ive tried the standalone and allsorts...no luck. Oh well, I think its something on my PC thats incompatible with this certain update, so Ive hidden it and thought..*&(* it!!

Same issue here.

The update is to do with an extender for Xbox 360 controler which I dont even have.

Nothing works inc turning on any office services.

Perhaps your system has some of the software for the extender built in as it may be a pre-installed OEM thing....

All my PC's since 2001 are built by me and my copy of Vista64 Ult is Retail.

Seems only peeps I see that got it to install are on Vista32.
