Solved Not Connected With Any Avast! Account
Asked over there but thought someone here may know.
In updating to Version 7 I unchecked "Participate with Avast Community" (or words close to that.) Under "Current Status" of the user interface it says "Not connected with any Avast! account." Are these two related?
In that regard, in trying to connect to an "Avast! account" I see I have to create an acount? So if I hadn't unchecked "Participate" in the update process I would've been asked to create an account?
Edit: I see that under Settings > Community you can check "Particiape in the Avast! Communtiy" so I'm still confused.
Thanks all
VFN

You can check with them, but I just installed Avast for a friend and it worked fine after the email thing.
By the way you will only be good for 3 months then you have to reregister with the key that they give you. Be careful to stay with the free if applicable.

I learned that "Participate" helps with detections and such and is anonymous so...
Btw, my Registration says it's good til December.
Marking this as solved.
Thanks
