I had a problem with my restore points vanishing all the time and things would sometimes slow down. I ran MalwareBytes and E-Set nod32 and nothing was found. I went to trend micro housecall and did a scan with that and it found a backdoor and a trojen that it said were in the icon file of a program I had.
I didn't even know you could put a virus in an icon file, did any of you know that?
Anyway they were removed and everything is back up to speed and restore points are staying set.
I had thought it was a problem with the upper limit set for restore points so I set that to unbound (no limit).
