I installed Microsoft Security Essentials on my computer to try, didn't like it so uninstalled and now security center fails to start.
Went to services and tried to start it manually, failed access denied
Downloaded SubInACL and ran that to reset all permissions to default, no change access denied.
Checked the default log on and it is local service, if I try to change that the error code changes to "the account specified for this service is different from the account specified for other services that run in the same process" (1079)
All other security works defender, firewall, I just don't get any warnings if something is blocked or needs my input.
Contacted Microsoft help they said it was a MSE problem, but when I contact MSE help they tell me it is a Vista problem.
All I know is it's a Microsoft problem.
I followed the thread here in the forum with the same tag but nothing there helped my case.
Don't really see it as a big loss, just like everything on my computer to work as it should.
Security I have is Eset NOD32 always on, Windows Defender, always on,Windows Firewall, always on. Regular scans with Malwarebytes, and Super AntiSpyware.
no infections found
SFC/ scannow, no problems. check disk, no problems.
Rapidly running out of ideas.
Don't have a Vista disc OEM install on Toshiba
No other problems anywhere on computer
