Anti Virus Suite virus????

So I went online and a program popped out of nowhere. It said Antivirus suite, I thought it was one of those scams again so I exited. Sooner or later, it started to block everything on the internet so it was basically useless. It then started telling me that almost all of my files were "infected". All of my files were useless because they wouldn't start up and the bubble in the toolbar tray kept going "_______.exe is infected" and things of that nature. The funny thing is that AIM still works. Now, Antivirus suite keeps opening a porno site... Its ironic, it blocks everything EXCEPT porno sites. Help?

lol yeah, but that tool is good for infected rogue ware like that, and yes generally i do not like avg, but that program came to an exception.

I think the user is a she. Yeah you can also try to boot off linux live cd, and run your avg with wine or something like that, but i dont think she knows how. Yesh system restore would be the easiest option.

System restore:

Go to

Start>all programs> accessories> system tools> and click on system restore, and follow the prompt, restore to a date when your computer wasnt infected.

Back up important files to be safe.

hihijenjenxp, I think I had just received the same virus you have. I found this virus will prevent you from opening up task manager and a full scan with AVG(running on desktop) will not find anything wrong. I managed to fix my computer by using system restore with a few trick to get it open.

1.turn on/restart your computer
2.at the first chance you get open up task manager(ctrl+alt+del, you need to open task manager before the virus loads)
3.go to Processes tab
4.as soon as you see the virus load up on the system tray you should be able to find a mysterious looking process(I think the name is random, but it will be a long string of random characters. Mine was fxirkpltssd.exe)
5.right click on the process and choose end process

You should now be see the "anti-virus suite" gone and you should now be able to open up system restore. Just restore your computer to a known safe state and you should be good. This was how I got my netbook back to normal. Hope this helps

I have xp on my netbook and it should work for vista. I think when you push ctrl+alt+delete in vista a screen pops up and you choose start task manager to open it. Every thing else should be the same as xp.
