Security Service Missing in Services.msc

My Security Service row has gone missing in services.msc As a result, I can't turn on Windows Security Center. I keep getting the error message "The Security Center Can't Be Started".

I'm running Windows Vista Home Basic 32bit.

Please help.

Are you running any anti-virus software? Have you browsed the internet to any un-trusted sites?
