Keyboard sound control problems

Hi, I have a Dell Keyboard with a little sound controller on it, but about 6 months ago, it stopped working 100% of the time, and now it only works if I "select" my toolbar, and even then it's very on and off.

Has anyone else ever had this problem?

Also, first post, hi everyone.
