I have vista home premium and I enabled the input monitor via regedit. the strange thing is that the box and mute button for it is there but no slider:
Hello, use System Restore and undo that register change that you made. Then we will instruct you to enable it the normal way. Post back when you have restored OS to before this registry change you made and we will try to get that enable for you. http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/76905-system-restore-how.html
What happens when you open up Sound Manager in the Audio Manager now ? Can you check that default speakers and other settings .. etc.. stereo and such are set right ?
If I delete the registry entry for the input monitor, it is removed completely, but with it enabled all that is there is the mute button which is functional
I wonder if something else is wrong with registry . Please use this tutorial , it does not take long. However , if it finds registry integrity issues. then run it for a total of at least 4 to 5 times to maximize the results of it. http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/66978-system-files-sfc-command.html
No.. if it found any Integrity issues. do the scan bout 4 to 5 times to allow it to fix all it can.. Let me know when you have done that. and we can go from there.
Try this next . just to be sure. post me results of this when done. We are not giving up. We will get this for you , one way or another . : No sound in Windows
