I have sound coming from my headset, but I just want to use the microphone so that I can use my speakers.
Are you wanting to speak into a microphone or do you want to listen to other sounds from the speakers?

I don't know what your audio manager is. Mine is Realtek. In control panel select sound. Is the microphone jack "enabled" in the Recording tab?
In the Playback tab, are the speakers checkmarked?

If your headset has 2 jacks, one for the mic and one for the sound then don`t plug in the sound jack.
If your headset is USB then please tell us what headset you are using.
