DVD RW Drive: Application Not Found

Hi everyone,

Pls I need your valuable help.
My DVD RW drive as been working normally since I had my Dell Inspiron 530, but recently for 2 weeks now anytime I insert a cd or dvd it gives me this message: Applicantion not found. Pls what can I do. Its affecting my projects.

Welcome
Several thing to try
Go to search by the start button.
Type device manager
Inside device manager look for any small yellow warning markers. If none found go to the driver for the drive and make sure that it is up to date
If that does not work, try a system restore from about 3 days before the problem began.

And if that fails,set a restore point and try this.

Press Windows key and R
Type regedit, and then click OK.
If you are prompted for an administrator password or for a confirmation, type the password, or click Allow.
In the navigation pane, locate and then click the following registry subkey:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
In the right pane, click UpperFilters.
On the Edit menu, click Delete.
When you are prompted to confirm the deletion, click Yes.
In the right pane, click LowerFilters.
On the Edit menu, click Delete.
When you are prompted to confirm the deletion, click Yes.
Exit Registry Editor.
Restart the computer.

    Weakest part of my computer is the graphics chipset. Only ever used a laptop. Also use USB Freeview TV Card Lenovo Docking Station External Speakers Other bits a pieces as needed
