Got audio problom in my HP laptop

Hi guys,
My HP 530 laptop audio is too low and I have tried everything known to me @ increasing the sound but all effort proved abortive.
HP claims that the laptop comes with a high definition audio device, Does the high definition audio means reduced volume or what is the problem?
I have noticed that most HP 530 behaves that way, maybe its a design problem.
The audio volume is low as compared to all other laptops.
Can somebody help me out?

Have you gone to the device manager and looked for yellow warning markers?
Did it ever work?
If so, have you tried system restore?
