Simaltaneous Sound and Mouse Lag

Hey

My set-up is bitchin, well I should say was bitchin. However, just after the Christmas break I began experiencing Sound lags and on screen mouse lags which occurred at the same time. This usually occurs if I leave my computer on for an hour or two. I come back and theres the problem. A simple restart solves the problem, but when I finish dinner, I come back to a lagging computer.

What I've tried:

Registry cleaner
Disk defragsment
DNS cache clearance
Cleared temp. internet folders and browser history
system restore to before christmas
Device manager-unistalled and reinstalled sound drivers from gateway website
checked speakers
ran cpu speed test
etc.

If you don't think Ive tried it just ask!

Have you checked for malware ?.

Try this free app and post your results.

Also, just check your file system is not damaged. Follow this tutorial.

Look in the Event Viewer and see if there are any errors there that might give you a clue.
Have you added any new software/hardware ?.

Try disabling your sound card and see if you get the mouse lag, is it the sound card or the mouse causing this ?.
