I got exactly the same problems like Markus Eßmayer posted some days ago with my Phase 88 Rack FW. It just drops away, there's no sound anymore. My workaround: I have to open the Panel Mixer and change the Freq. e.g. from 44.1 to 48 an backwards. The card crackles softly and works again. That sucks! I have contacted the "profs" at Terratec but they had absolutely no clue at all. 
@Markus: Does it happen when you start Firefox? I discovered that sound goes away if I start Firefox (it does go away in other situations too). Must be some stupid addon that disconnects some Terratec drivers.
At the moment I cannot even change frequencies. If I try to there's an error message like "server is at full capacity" and "change application to end..". WTF?
Does anybody have this issues with his 88 FW? Does anybody have a solution?
