Need Suggestions For Sound Card Upgrade For Windows Vista Home Premium (to be able to record from cassette player)
I want to record my vinyl and cassette music library onto my computer. My version of Windows Vista (Home Premium) does not facilitate music recording (other than ripping cd music using the built-in cd player).
I have tried several cheap external usb sound cards but don’t get good sound reproduction using them. I have checked the specs on internal sound cards and they seem much better than usb models.
I want to try an Asus Xonar D2 sound card. Just about all the on-line reviews and forums for this sound card talk about its good sounding audio playback and its gaming capabilities; hardly anything about recording music from analog sources. Can anyone tell me:
1. Will Asus Xonar D2 work with Windows Vista Home Premium for my purposes?
2. Is this sound card any good for recording music?
3. Are there better alternatives/solutions for recording music on Windows Vista than this sound card?
Thanks for any help!
