So, I did a search and found some newsgroup posts. None of which had any answers.
So, I thought I would just post one about it myself.
The situation:
The problem happened when I installed driver updates. After I restarted, Vista decided to quit working.. so I uninstalled, restarted, still did not work. I reverted to a restore point, still does not work.
So, right now, I'm in a tough boat. Microsoft and all it's stupidity with DRM has messed up big time on this, and this is really piddling me off.
Note: I can play mp3's and non-DRM audio files, video's, etc just fine.
Thanks for ANY and ALL help.

The situation:
- Been using Creative Sound Blaster Live! Audigy 2 ZS Gamer Edition sound card since I bought Vista.. been working good.
- Was bored one day so I decided to test out my onboard 8 channel sound to see if it was any better. It was, so I decided to use it and upgrade the drivers.
- Motherboard: ASUS M2N-SLI Deluxe
- Audio: SoundMAX 8 Channel Audio by Analog
- Before I turned on the onBoard Audio, I could play DRM just fine.
- After I turned it on, I could play it fine as well
