Volume meter in Sound Properties
Hi guys,
Today I noticed that the little volume meter next to each device under "Recording Devices" (Right-click your little speaker in the task bar and select Recording Devices) has disappeared. I know it disappeared either today or yesterday. I haven't done anything that could have messed with it. Do you guys know how I can get it back?
Thanks

Hi Spd2Last,
You might try reinstalling your audio driver to see if that fix it.
Hope this helps,
Shawn

Thanks for your reply,
I followed your advice but that didn't fix anything. Is there a registry setting that you may know of for this?

Well Spd2Last,
The next thing to try is to do a System Restore using a restore point dated before this problem happened to hopefully fix the problem.

I've never had any faith at all in System Restore as it had never worked for me in any flavor of XP, but Vista's 2 for 2 now. It worked, but I would love to know what it was that happened to have taken away my meters. Thank you again for the help.

Your welcome Spd3Last. I'm glad to hear that your problem is fixed now. It could have been a corrupted file somewhere that caused it. ??
