hello i am having an issue,excel and powerpoint

Hello any one who can help.

I received a PowerPoint presentation via e-mail.
I can open and read all the data in the document, but I cannot edit an Excel spreadsheet
object that has been included in the presentation. When I tried, I receive an error message saying that the server application, source file or item cannot be found.

I know these applications are installed on my pc.

I am using Microsoft Office Powerpoint 2007 and Microsoft Office 2007.
