Hello Friends,

This is getting me nuts...please help......

I have reinstalled my Vista home premium 32bit OS, and now i am not able to install my vodaphone router software....during installation of software i get the error messges

Error 1935.An error occurred during the installation of assembly 'Microsoft.VC80.ATL,type="win32",version="8.0.50727.762",publicKeyToken="1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b",processorArchitecture="x86"'. Please refer to Help and Support for more information. HRESULT: 0x800736B3. assembly interface: IAssemblyCacheItem, function: Commit, component: {97F81AF1-0E47-DC99-A01F-C8B3B9A1E18E}

i have looked into even viewer and found...........error

Activation context generation failed for "C:\Program Files\Common Files\AccSys\AccVSSvc.exe". Dependent Assembly Microsoft.VC80.CRT,processorArchitecture="x86",publicKeyToken="1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b",type="win32",version="8.0.50727.762" could not be found. Please use sxstrace.exe for detailed diagnosis

sxstrace.exe could not give me much info.....

please suggest how to proceed...this is fresh installation, not sure if previous installation carrying .Net Framework...

Hello and welcome to the Vista Forums!

It is not .net Framework that you need, but the Visual C++ Runtimes, in particular the 2005 ones.

· Download and install the following VC++ Redistributables in the following order: 2005; 2005 SP1; 2008; 2008 SP1, 2010

Web addresses:

2. Download details: Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 SP1 Redistributable Package (x86)
3. Download details: Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable Package (x86)

Download details: Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package (x86)

Retry. That should solve the issue. If it does not, I shall teach you sxstrace.exe!

unfortunately i could not install the first four links ....Microsoft Visual C++ 2005, SP1, 2008 and 2008 SP1. error during installation i paste below......

i could install only Microsoft Visual C++ 2010,but this could not help me to fix my issue.

how to proceed now ??? I can not format my C drive, vista re installation makes a old copy of windows and that is also i can not delete. Its completely frustrating.

I have reinstalled my windows vista but still same issue, cleaned up my registry entires still same issue...i can not update my vista to SP1 as i am not able to connect internet.

is the solution lies updating vista to SP1 and then SP2??

okie last idea, i can go for formating my C drive, but that is also not possible...its says access denied. what i pity ....

Hi Friends,

Yes my error got solved...i write the answer here to help other forum members.
What i did:

Step 1: To correct this install error, you need to clear the log.

a. Open an Administrator command prompt: Right-click Start > All Programs > Accessories > Command Prompt and select "Run as Administrator" and click "Allow" for the elevation prompt

b. In the command prompt, type the command below:

fsutil resource setautoreset true C:\

c. This assumes that C: is the drive in which Vista is installed. If it is installed on another drive like D:, please change the drive letter appropriately.

d. Reboot the system.

e. Install the software and check.

i did that and installation of my software worked fine.
