Solved MS office/publisher/website builder-question

i am building a website in ms publisher 2007 version and all is well but i have an icon issue. no matter what i try, when i install an icon on my page and use the set transparent option to remove the back ground color from the icon, i enter webpage preview and the icon is faded and ugly. is there a remedy for this. it seems like to me most of the icons come with a background color instead of already being transparent which i absolutely do not like......any help is appreciated.

Check out the following thread about making icons: http://www.vistax64.com/general-discussion/224058-custom-folder-picture.html. I'm not sure if the background you refer to is the same as the white space discussed in the referenced thread, but if so, the options used by Brink to resolve the problem seem to remove that white space and leave just the icon itself. Maybe this can help you if you use the finished product (and you can probably start with the icons you're already using and simply modify them if they are .ico files or some other filetype the program(s) can read).

I don't know about using Publisher to make web pages (I use Frontpage or Expressions), so i'm not sure if you can add an .ico file to the page or if it needs to be some other filetype or done within Publisher to work - but it might help and may be worth a shot if no other solution has come up in the meantime. If it needs to be a different filetype, there may be free conversion programs available to convert it to what is required.
