Explorer.exe won't open folders in Rocketdock

Things have worked well with RocketDock until I installed the latest Windows update two days ago. Clicking on any application in RocketDock it works fine. But when I click on the User, Documents or Pictures folder icons I made paths for in RocketDock, an "Open with" window opens. From here if I browse for the program to open these folders and click on explorer.exe the folder opens. Problem is, the "open with" window is grayed out where you check to make it the default application. So how do I get explorer.exe to open folders located on the RocketDock taskbar? Thanks in advance.

can you "change default program"? Your "open with" can't be greyed out... what antivirus program are you running.. try a virus scan..
the easy solution here is that you can do a system restore to 2 days back.. before the windows update..

Here's a screenshot of the window. Have to browse to C:\Windows\explorer.exe to open this and the other folders. The default cannot be checked.

click on browse.. select the the program by highlighting it.. does this not free the greyed part? can you right click on the program and "set as default"

No on both counts.


Update: It wasn't the Windows Update that caused the problem. This problem is the result of my favorite search application....UltraFileSearch. Once uninstalled explorer.exe was once again able to open folders in the RocketDock launcher. I guess it makes sense with the program changing search parameters and possible associations, but I don't know exactly the reason.

Also, this program change the view within the folder window and it could not be changed. It allowed for the Navigation pane to be viewed and it couldn't be changed. Interesting.
