Solved How to restore Mail icon in Start Menu to original settings

I accidentally deleted the Mail icon from the Start Menu (Vista Ultimate x32) and a ballon came up with the steps to restore this which instantly disappeared. I run Office 2007 with Outlook as the default mail client. I did manage to create the shortcut for Outlook 2007 and drop it on the Start Menu and it works. However, on right click it does not give the three options (E-Mail Accounts; Data Files; Show Profiles) that was part of the standard options. I am able to access these options from the Control Panel (Mail) but would prefer to restore the Start Menu.

I did re-install Office suite but it did not change. Is there a way to restore this back? thanks

I am sorry that you had to reinstall Office. To get this back:

• Right click on the Start Orb
• Click Properties
• Under the Start Menu tab, click Customize. Note, click the button that is not greyed out, and do not change the position of the radio button (movable circle) Leave it at Start Menu, not at Classic Start Menu
• At the very bottom of the new window, check the "Email link" checkbox. Select Microsoft Office Outlook from the drop down list.
