GETTING 1402 error mesasge when trying to install office 2007

I upgraded from a geforce video card to an ATI card and had trouble uninstalling the physx engine forcing me to run windows install cleanup utility. well something in the process corrupted my office install and every time i click one of the components to open it setup for office started. drove me nuts!!! i ended up trying to uninstall office to reinstall it, would not let me do it. got error message i did not have access to it, so i used the windows install cleanup to remove it and now am getting that error message. anybody know a way around this? where in the registry is that key? hopeful that i can avoid format and reinstall of windows but am prepared to do it if needed. thank you to all that reply :geek:

When you get the Error just click on the Error message then Ctrl+C and paste it to a Notepad then just copy the key alone

Example,

where in the registry would i look for it? i have deleted all the office keys i have found so far and it still fails

well i found unknown in there but that is as far as it matches. components is not listed after it or the sting of numbers

I came across this at work and troubleshot for a few hours trying to find out WTF is going on - Poor guy had to reinstall Windows..

Good luck mate :) I've already made the jump - Not too bad but some things I actually miss about Vista.. But overall a nice experience.
