Hi everyone!
I've been trying to install Kaspersky Internet Security 2010 and I keep getting the following error:
Error 1721.There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personnel or package vendor. Action: InstallDriverKlim6X86, location: C:\Program Files\Kaspersky Lab\Kaspersky Internet Security 2010\KLIMX86\netcfg.exe, command: -g klim6 -l "C:\Program Files\Kaspersky Lab\Kaspersky Internet Security 2010\KLIMX86\klim6.inf" -t "C:\Program Files\Kaspersky Lab\Kaspersky Internet Security 2010\KLIMX86\klim6.cat" -z klim6.cat -c s -n kl_klim6 -i
I have contacted Kaspersky and they told me that it could either be due to the fact that the windows installer that I have is corrupt or it could be a virus.
So I first went to this site:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloadS/...6F-60B6-4412-95B9-54D056D6F9F4&displaylang=en
to download the windows installer, but when i tried to install it/update it, i got an error saying "The update does not apply to your system".
So, I did some other things that they asked me to and it seems that I don't have a virus. There were some traces of another antivirus on my laptop, so I followed a link that they gave me and uninstalled it.
However, I still get the same error when trying to install Kaspersky!!

I have made sure that Windows Installer is running...
Is there anything I can do?? I really need to install that Internet Security thing!
I am running Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit SP2. I have just installed the SP2, but it wasn't working with SP1 either.
Please HELP!!!
Thanks,
Maria
