I am running vista, I have recently installed windows live messenger. Everthing works fine except I do not receive alerts in bottom right hand corner when someone messages me, so i have to constantly reduce working window to check for message. It does pop up if someone signs in tho. Help please!

In WLM, click on Tools and Options. In Alerts, left pane, double check to see if all of these options below are checked.

Strange, I'm not certain what else could be causing this then. You might make sure that they are added in your contacts to see if that may help.
