I purchased a brand new Sony Viao AW31JZ/B with Windows Vista Home Premium 64bit.
I have been trying to instal Adobe CS3 on it for the past 20 hours, with no avail. In my first attempt, I failed to install the CS3 Suite. I had a blue screen error, after which I uninstalled the application, and then attempted reinstall again.
This time however, in the CS3 Suite, I deselected the Acrobat and the Adobe Cue Server options, keeping Photoshop, Illustrator and Indes. selected.
I succeeded. I even installed Flash 8, and all of it worked fine.
My Sony system had an Adobe PDF 9.1.0 pre-installed in it.
I "assumed" that it was not allowing me to instal Acrobat 8.0. Professional, which is part of the CS3 Suite, because Acrobat 9.1.0 was already installed.
So, I removed it. Then I downloaded the trial version of Acrobat 9.0 from the Adobe website and tried to install it.
I tried hopelessly for the next 5-6 hrs. Each time I got a Blue Screen (BSOD) error.
I called up Adobe and they recommended that I use the Windows Utility Cleanup, followed by the Adobe CS3 and CS4 registry cleaners.
I downloaded both, installed both and successfully ran both.
However, I am still unable to install it.
The problem has WORSENED now, because now, it does not allow me to install ANY ADOBE SOFTWARE. I do not get a Blue Screen, but when I run the Adobe CS3 Suite Installer (selecting the original options of Photoshop/ Illus/ Indesign) it only installs "Shared Components" and says that the rest of the installation failed.
I must also mention, that I tried to do a System Restore, to an earlier point in the day, when I had managed to instal the Adobe Softwares, but THAT TOO FAILED.
It did not allow me to do a System Restore either.
I am truly in a mess. Somebody with some experience of Vista Home Premium 64bit, on Sony AW31ZJ/B, please kindly help or shed some light on the issues.
