Ok, so I've got a HTMC pc that I built from scratch. I have been using my trusty Pinnacle Tuner Card to watch and record HDTV over the air.

After talking to the comcast rep in my store, he convinced me that I should get Comcast cable Limited-Basic (no stb required. Samsung HDTV finds all the local stations I want...) and quit using my Antannae (Sp?). My two motivations for doing this were:

  • $60/month for Cable Internet > $42.95 (for Cable Internet) + $10 (for limited basic TV)/month.
  • There are a few stations that are just barely out of range from our antannae and this would rectify the situation and we'd get them in HD) :)

I have since gone back into MC to reset my tuner card that is supposed to work with this system and the tuner card is only giving me an option for antanae (sp?) as an input, not a cable signal. The system also looks for Digital OTA broadcasts which won't exist since it's not hooked up to an Antanae (sp?) After trying to find someone that's doing what I am right now (no luck), I'm kind of to the point of Reformat, Reload, *sigh* Reinstall....

Things I have tried:

  • Uninstalled drivers for cards. Restarted PC. Ran Media Center without allowing WIndows to reload drivers. Tried to rerun MC setup again to make it see there were no cards. Reinstalled card drivers and restarted machine....No change.
  • Choosing "Run Setup Again" from the Windows Media Center Setup Menu in MC.
Any ideas that I should try would be great
