I have a Xvid file that opens in Windows Media Player and I want it to open as a video file.
Any ideas to change media type to video and not audio

Welcome to Forum. You didn't say whether you have the codec pack or not. You need to install codecs in order to play the Xvid files. The Vista Codec pack you can download from http://www.majorgeeks.com/Vista_Codec_Package_d5326.html, or the KLite Codec from K-Lite Codec Pack - Download
