Hi, I cannot get this version (or any other version) of Java running on my Vista x64 rig.
I manually install (offline) v6 update 11 and it appears in the programs menu but when I run IE7 or FF3 there is no sign of Java being installed and using the verify Java webpage doesnt work. Any webpages that use Java applets don't work either.
After a bit of searching it appears it may be something to do with where the files are placed on the install in Vista x64 (WOW64) but I can't find any simple, clear guides on how to do this.
I tried a guide ( Why is Java not found on x64 Windows Vista after installation? - Geeks!) which said change some links to Java via the command prompts but this hasn't worked either.
Anybody help?
Thanks,
Raff
