I just installed photo shop cs3 and vista ultimate 64 bit and when i try to run photoshop it says that is is not working properly and it shuts down.....help!
Need more information swegin. It worked alright when I had it running..so it is compatible.
You might have run a cs3cleanscript ( google ) and reinstall.
Also, don't change the default installation locations as that WILL cause problems with Photoshop - not sure why..(security..maybe???)....
Do you have enough disk space. Photoshop requires alot of space for it's scratch disk and if this is not available it will do a wobbly.
How clean is your system? when was the last time you reformatted - Not the easiest of options but a clean system has less knock-on effects and less chances for conflicts.
Let me know, I will help if I can as I run Photoshop 10 hours a day seven days a week.
this is brand new computer, i have a 640g hard drive and 4gb of ram with an amd 9850 processor so i'm sure that i meet the requirements. i have the cs3 suite and everything else works perfectly fine. when i try to run photo shop it come up with the load up screen and then shortly after it says this program is not working. what is the cs3cleanscript? i have my user set to the administrator on my computer so that should be good to go. so let me know what you think
and yes i have tried reinstalling it over five times
uuumm..it should work OK.....I had some problems when cs3 first came out ....but actually I remember a reformat resolved the issue. The installation of cs3 can be problematic if it conflicts with other software...
...the cleanscript cleans out the registry data made by a cs3 installation.....sorry, I'm gonna be a pain in the bum!.. uninstall all your cs3 software...and run the clean script.
Reinstall Photoshop first ...check it to see if it loads... then do the rest of CS3.....if it doesn't work you might need to reformat and reinstall Vista as there is a conflict somewhere....that will be quicker than hours....days.....weeks of troubleshooting.
