Hi. I have been toiling for a few hours, tying to figure out how to get xlive to work. So far I have tried everything I could think of, including updating Windows manually, going through all the "Windows Support Center" tips, reinstalling the game I need this for, and restarting between all the steps. I went to
Games for Windows – LIVE Support
a few times to install it, but every time I try I get this message.
Any ideas? I need it to run Fallout 3, which I really look forward to doing, but this is being a real hassle. I tried install Windows Live from the game's install directory, but got this.
As a side note, it may have something to do with x64 C++ Runtime because whilst installing the game, I get an error (that goes away and installation continues). I tried installing this manually from the Windows Support Center,
Download details: Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable Package (x64)
and i get a very similar error:
I have tried different releases of both the programs.
So either I have two coincidentally similar programs not working (Games for Windows - LIVE and x64 C++ Runtime) or they are somehow linked. I won't go into how my automatic updater no longer works (the error code and information regarding it was useless).
Thank you for your time and understanding. I hope this was in the right Forum category, I hope I didn't add way too much, and I hope you can help me soon.
Thanks
Tom
