Huge lag with Ventrilo

Hello! Thank you for viewing my thread!
Well when I start up Ventrilo on my computer and then choose my bindings, my whole screen freezes for as long until I click my mouse many times. Then it's alright to join and talk, but when I need to re-adjust my outbound/inbound or set new bindings, I receive lag for about 5 mins. opening Setup and closing Setup. I've tried to redownload Ventrilo and repair it, and it doesn't seem to work.

Have you tried running Ventrilo as administrator to see if it still causes the same problem?

I have the exact same problem REALLY seeking an answer
sorry to bump and old thread but it is extremely annoying and no one has the answer
