Thousands appear to have this problem. I've put tens of hours into trying to get Outlook to search ... no success. This Vista crap is maddening ... I'm pretty well convinced that it's time to jump ship to Mac after all these years.
Does anybody know how to turn on Search in Vista Outlook?

After working fruitlessly for months at getting Outlook 2007 to Search, running under Vista, I finally solved the problem today.
Yes. Really.
What did I do to get Search finally to work? Nothing at all.
The Vista update that installed itself today included an update to Vista Search, and now everything works as was advertised. (I think, anyway ... maybe I'd better watch this for a few weeks.)
As I said before, arousing a few grumbles from Microsoft fans, Vista as shipped was crap. It is getting a little less crappy with every fix like this one, but Microsoft still has a long way to go.
