Software/Game/Driver Update Checker?

OK people, enough "WOW WE UPDATE YOUR SOFTWARE AND DRIVERS FOR FREE, AFETR YOU PAY!" Does anyone know where there is a legit Software Updater, also one that will check Drivers and for Game updates?

I always like to stay up to date no matter what I'm using, I have been relying on the Windows Update to check for any out of date drivers.

Not *really* - there is DriverMax for Windows Vista and Windows XP - easily reinstall all your Windows drivers within a few minutes but although it can tell you the status of drivers, sometimes it is wrong and there is no ability (currently) to download drivers.
