Dual monitors & Media Center

I've been using Vista Media Center on a dual monitor setup which works fine except for one niggly little problem. When watching TV I have MC open on my second monitor while I work on the primary monitor but if I run MC full screen the cursor is locked in and I can't move it back to the main monitor.

I can drag the MC to almost full screen and everything is fine. I also have Power Cinema which doesn't have this problem.

Just wondering if anybody knows of a solution as I like Media Center and would prefer to use it.

Thats typical behavior of fullscreen applications, games do it as well. Your "almost full screen" solution is the best.

What I have found id that by pressing the windows button on the keyboard, allows me to move the mouse out of the MC monitor that I have it on.
This is the only solution I found that works, if you would like to use full screen

Good program - I'll email the author to allow for settings to automatically load MCE on the primary monitor in a FTS mode that leaves the mouse usable on the second screen....

That is sooooo GOOD!
I used to leave a window opened on the main monitor, open WMC, maximize WMC and do alt tab to the windows i left opened on the main..........
to much work!

Yeah, just hitting the start button on your KB does the same thing - you don't have to open the second window at all.

Hi Macool,

I'm still struggeling with the basic setup of running 2 monitors with windows media center (which you seem to have achieved).

I have a NVidia 8400GS and managed to have both monitors recognized by windows and configured properly. One is small TFT, that I would like to use as the console to runn the Media Center UI and the other one is TV, that I want to use for Video Output.

My question is: How do I configure Windows MC so when any kind of Video or TV is started, the output goes directly to the TV.

Any help is highly appreciated.

Hey guys, I am having problem with the maxifier.
When it is installed, the MC does not works fine in the 2º monitor (TV).
With out the programa media center opens just fine on the last moniter it was used!
But, when I install the program.....
it opens in the 2º monitor, than it blinks and goes do the 1º monitor!!!

Any help?

I know this is an old thread, but just wanted to say, "Thanks Orkel!" I can't believe I never thought to try that! I've been putting off buying a third monitor for quite some time because of this one little annoyance. I've even sent a feature request to MS due to the fact that this existed since XP MCE, and still exists in Vista and Win7.
