Hey there, i overclocked my Nvidia 8500GT about an hour ago. Naturally i played a few games to test the temprature it reached to make sure it was safe...only problem being, i dont know what a safe temprature is...
I played Borderlands for around 20 minutes, then went back onto World of Warcraft.
It averages around 58-62c but that wasnt after playing for hours on end like i normally do. I overclocked with RivaTuner. So i was wondering, is 58-62c a safe temprature for it to be running on and will that increase to a harmful temprature after say...4 or 5 hours or constant play? It ran at 49c before i OC. Also my final question, my card is quite old, so will it damage it if i keep it OC?
Thanks
P.S Will taking the side off of my PC help cool the GCard? I have just a stock PC, no extra cooler or anything...
