Laptop runs at 125 F Idle?

My Acer laptop runs at 125 degrees F Idle, and it runs at about 160 F - 180 F when I play a game or do intense work. I was wondering how I can decrease the heat and keep my laptop cool. I've tried Speed Fan with no luck, and I haven't found any Acer Software to help me out. The computer it hot to the touch, and the temperature monitor is Speed Fan. I've even tried blowing out the dust in the case, and it doesn't fix it. I once opened up the bottom of my laptop, and saw lots of dust and blew it out. Most came out but some was left behind.

The fan that cools your laptop may be broken. I had a fan for my Inspiron break and, man, that sucker got hot! I had to get a new one. A new fan, that is.

Yeah, I can hear it constantly revving up and down. I wish I could just tell it to run at 100% all the time.

Try removing the screws and take out the fan cover and blow it out,it might help.

The idle temp is not too bad at around 51C to 52C, you could try a cool mat, blow out all the vents, or open up the PC and give it a good clean out.

Everyone was right. They just missed one thing. If your warranty is still there, you can tell your manufacturer to replace the fan. The cooling system is faulty! I say you must get a replacement. I think they'll be happy to change it for you.

Was the computer so hot when it was new? Also, have you overclocked? It may also be that the BIOS settings are not right, for the computer should automatically shut down once the body is so hot, to protect itself from damage.

The heat is not good for the parts. My computer shuts down when the temperature of the motherboard is around 110-120 Celsius.

Sadly my warranty is up, and I started monitoring my temperatures like 3 or 4 months ago. My computer isn't overclocked either, the BIOS does not allow it.

I just make sure it's not over 160, so that I won't cause it damage.

You can still get a cooling system replacement, if you don't mind paying for it. The temperature is really dangerous for your system.
