Solved Share a Vista PC Printer with a W8.1 PC

Hi

All the info I can find by searching for printer sharing tells me how to share a printer connected to my PC, but in this case the printer is on a Vista SP2 PC, it is set for sharing, and I want to have it share the printer with my W8.1 PC.

When I try to find the printer it does not find any.

What is the correct procedure for connecting a W8.1 PC to a Vista SP2 PC attached printer.

Can you see files in the C:\Users\Public folders of the two machines from the other machine?

Those folders should be shared by default. If you cannot see the contents from the other machine then there is something missing. Perhaps file and printer sharing is not enabled or the network discovery service is not running.
