unexpected switchoff of network

Dell laptop on Vista

When i opened up 2 days ago i was unable to connect by wifi between router and laptop. When i looked to network, one of the lead items "Network and Sharing Centre" showed connection not on - click here! I did so and fairly quickly the network connected me to Google as usual. On switching on again this a.m. the same thing happened, and again i was able to connect in the same way. Is a driver not doing its job or something beyond me ? Any thoughts please ?

Check the power settings, might have accidently change something.

Try a driver reinstall too.

You can do an Uninstall when in the device manager, just right click and uninstall. Do not delete the driver if asked.
Then do a hardware scan, click the computer icon in the device manager and it will reinstall the current driver.

What model laptop is it exactly?
