The network icon has disappeared from my notification area and I would like to get it back if possible.
I had problems with hyperlinks for Outlook and had fixed this as well as downloading SP3 for MS Office

In case if the steps mentioned by richc46 do not work, please follow the link for MS fix it for Network icon in Notification Area: System icons do not appear in the notification area in Windows Vista or in Windows 7 until you restart the computer
