Solved how do I activate the internet connection?

My father recently got me a hand-me-down HP laptop from his work.

It has Windows Vista Business 2007 as operating system.

I first used it at their place witha cable internet connection, which worked fine, But at my own place I can't figure out how to connect it to our wifi. I have been through the internet control panel severaltimes, and nothing seems to work. The antenna is activated, but when I try to find our wifi it doesn't detect any available networks.

I am not an expert so would appreciate any help I can get ;-)

Hello Anne and welcome to the forums :party:

Let's see what we can do about this for you.

Firstly, I would like to see some more information about your network settings:

Command Prompt

Open your start menu and in the search box, type Command Prompt
When you see Command Prompt on the list, right-click on it and select Run as administrator
When command prompt opens, copy and paste the following commands into it, press enter after each

ipconfig /all > %SYSTEMDRIVE%\tom982.txt
This will create a text file called tom982.txt in the root folder of your main drive (e.g. C:\tom982.txt). Please copy and paste the contents of this into your next post.
