Computer not recognizing network

My computer isnt recognizing the network in my home, or any network. Absolutely no networks show up. Yes, the LAN switch is on. Tried to enable boot options from the boot up menu and that didnt work. Tried to see if it was the network adapter drivers. That's also not it. PLEASE HELP! Acer MS2220 with vista home basic on it. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!

The router is fine because im currently on my computer. This computer im trying to fix is a friends. System restore isnt available on his computer either. What should I do?

Hello, what happens when you open up Control Panel, then open Network and Sharing Center, and on left side of that press the Diagnose and Repair ?
