Solved Vista machine wont connect to Linksys E2000 router WiFi

I hooked up my new Linksys E2000 router, and all devices connect no problems. 3 Windows 7 machines, a 3DS, the wii, and the ps3 can all access the internet just fine. My only Vista machine will not connect to the internet, just local only. I have tried assigning a static IP and I have restarted my network adapter, machine, router and modem to no avail.

Not sure what would be causing this. Any ideas?

Hello.. a tough one here.. have you hard wired and tried to set it up for wifi service ? Just strange , all other devices get internet, cept this one unit.

Well, how bout flush dns and reset ip config ? just give it a clean set up thingy ?

Hmm,, hardwired to router ? no net ? hmmm.. most strange.. researching for a solution.

This Vista laptop is my daily work horse so it's on the net daily. The last time it was on the net today (about an hour or two ago) was with the other Linksys router. I'm going to see if there's a driver update for my NIC and try assigning the router a channel instead of auto. I'll report back.

Good trouble shooting . Most strange however. Your main computer should be first one up and running. Today was Microsoft Tuesday, did you get your updates ?

For me, i had 9 updates that applied to me. All important. ehhh.. one optional. that MSE thing.. which was needed as i use MSE ..

I don't use MSE. Also, I updated my NIC drivers and specified a channel on my router, and I now have internet access. Thanks for your time anyway.
